BIM + VR Specialist (Revit → Unreal Engine → Oculus) for Data Center Walkthrough Job Description We are developing an immersive VR walkthrough of a data center project for high-level stakeholder presentations. We already have high-quality 3ds Max renders that define the visual intent. Your role is to translate this into a technically accurate, VR-ready environment that can be experienced on Oculus Quest. This is not a basic rendering job. We are looking for someone who understands BIM accuracy + real-time VR performance. Scope of Work Phase 1 — BIM Modeling (Revit) Develop a clean, accurate Revit BIM model based on: Existing 3ds Max renders (visual reference) Provided layouts and design inputs Model architecture + critical MEP elements relevant to a data center: Data halls, racks, aisles Power rooms (UPS / switchgear layout) Cooling equipment (CRAC/CRAH, major piping) Cable trays and raised flooring Ensure correct clearances, spacing, and scale Phase 2 — VR Development (Unreal Engine) Export Revit model using Datasmith Optimize geometry for VR performance: LODs Polygon reduction Clean UVs Set up: Real-time lighting (baked where appropriate) Materials optimized for VR Build an interactive VR walkthrough: Teleport navigation Predefined viewpoints / guided tour points Optional labels for major areas (Data Hall, Control Room, etc.) Phase 3 — Oculus Deployment Package and deploy the experience for: Oculus Quest 2 / Quest 3 (standalone build) Ensure smooth performance and intuitive navigation Required Skills (Non-Negotiable) Autodesk Revit (BIM modeling, not drafting only) Unreal Engine (Datasmith workflow experience) VR optimization for Oculus Experience converting design/BIM models into real-time VR Strong understanding of scale, performance, and user experience in VR Nice to Have Previous data center, industrial, or infrastructure projects Experience with Unity (secondary) Ability to suggest improvements to VR storytelling What to Include in Your Proposal (Important) Proposals that do not include the following will be ignored: Examples of VR walkthroughs you have built (video or screenshots) Which parts you handled: BIM VR Both Your preferred workflow: Revit → Unreal 3ds Max → Unreal Your experience deploying to Oculus Quest Project Type Fixed-price or milestone-based (to be discussed) Potential for ongoing work if performance is strong Apply tot his job
