About the position As an accounting and financial reporting specialist on the Statutory Reporting team, you will be responsible for executing medium to highly complex statutory financial reporting. This role involves preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and conducting company close analysis while ensuring compliance with internal SOX controls and state insurance department requirements. You will collaborate with various departments, providing expertise to both internal and external customers. Responsibilities • Execute medium to highly complex statutory financial reporting. , • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations. , • Conduct company close analysis. , • Monitor accounting and financial reporting changes. , • Maintain compliance with internal SOX controls and state insurance department requirements. , • Partner with various departments and business units. , • Provide expertise to internal and external customers. , • Review items of high importance and materiality. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g. Finance). , • Minimum of two years' accounting work experience. Nice-to-haves • Experience with GAAP and/or statutory accounting principles and reporting. , • Experience with financial statement analysis, month end closing, and account reconciliations. , • Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening, presentation) and organizational skills (planning, time management, priority management). , • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
