About the position
Responsibilities
• Support senior finance consulting team members on various public sector projects.
• Analyze data to inform stakeholders and execute payments.
• Complete bank reconciliations with high attention to detail.
• Perform quality assurance reviews for government cost studies.
• Assist in monitoring projects reviewing spending activities of grant recipients.
• Manage and maintain grant payment trackers in Excel.
• Create payment batches for import to banking systems and produce notices to award recipients.
• Perform quality control procedures over payment data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in preparation of ad hoc reports for project managers and finance team leaders.
• Participate in weekly internal and client-facing project calls.
• Assist with monthly reconciliation of bank accounts for grant funds management.
• Assist in the creation of process workflow documents.
Requirements
• Strong working knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially for data analysis and reporting.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement and quality assurance.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication skills to form relationships across various organizational levels.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in public sector consulting or human services.
• Familiarity with grant management processes and compliance audits.
