Job Purpose:
The Area Director of Revenue Management at Main Street Hospitality is responsible for driving topline performance across a multi-property portfolio by developing and executing revenue strategies that optimize demand, maximize RevPAR, and sustain market competitiveness. This role balances analytical rigor with market insight—leveraging data, distribution channels, and pricing strategies to ensure each property achieves its revenue potential while aligning with the company’s brand standards and guest experience goals. As a strategic business partner, the Area Director of Revenue Management works closely with property leaders, sales, marketing, and operations to forecast, measure, and deliver financial results that support Main Street Hospitality’s long-term growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Revenue Strategy & Leadership
- Lead the development, communication, and execution of revenue strategies across a designated portfolio of hotels.
- Optimize pricing, inventory controls, and distribution strategies to maximize RevPAR, ADR, and occupancy performance.
- Partner with property General Managers and Sales & Marketing leadership to align revenue initiatives with property-level business needs and market dynamics.
- Conduct weekly revenue meetings with property teams, ensuring strategy execution and accountability.
Forecasting & Analysis
- Handle the creation of accurate daily, weekly, and monthly forecasts for rooms revenue, demand trends, and market share.
- Analyze performance reports (STR, TravelClick, etc.) to assess market position, demand drivers, and competitive set dynamics.
- Deliver actionable insights to senior leadership to inform both short-term adjustments and long-term strategy.
Distribution & Channel Management
- Maximize contribution of all distribution channels, balancing brand.com, OTA, GDS, group, and direct segments.
- Manage rate parity, distribution integrity, and channel profitability to protect brand reputation and optimize contribution margin.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and third-party partnerships to enhance booking performance and conversion.
Collaboration & Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to property and regional leadership teams, ensuring revenue goals are integrated into sales, marketing, and operational priorities.
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to align topline revenue strategies with financial performance.
- Support property acquisitions, transitions, and openings with market entry pricing strategies and system setup.
Professional Development & Support
- Support training and knowledge sharing with property-level leaders on revenue management concepts and tools.
- Stay current on revenue management trends, distribution technology, and competitor activity to bring new insights to the portfolio.
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in Hospitality, Business, Finance, or related field.
· 7–10+ years of progressive revenue management experience, with multi-property or regional oversight strongly preferred.
· Expertise in hospitality revenue management systems (e.g., IDeaS, Duetto, Amadeus, or equivalent), CRS, PMS, and distribution platforms.
· Strong analytical background with proven ability to interpret data and translate into actionable strategies.
· Experience in boutique, lifestyle, or multi-unit hospitality environments highly desirable.
