Art Teacher PreK-5th

Position: The 3K - 5th Part-time Art Teacher will have the unique opportunity to inspire and educate students in Art. Our ideal candidate is a passionate and dedicated educator with a strong background in Art and Art History and has the ability to adapt to various teaching levels and styles with a commitment to fostering a positive Learning environment for our students. Responsibilities: - Studio Art: Teach students fundamental drawing, painting, and sculpture techniques while fostering an appreciation for beauty - Art Appreciation (Art History): Guide students through the history of art, focusing on key artistic movements, styles, and artists, particularly within the Catholic tradition. - Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in line with the NYS Curriculum Standards - Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and academic growth - Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and other evaluation methods - Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative educational experience - Utilize creative teaching methods to enhance student learning and comprehension - Effectively integrate technology - Diligently enforce all school policies Requirements: - Practicing Roman Catholic and demonstrate a commitment to Catholic education (Preferred) - Bachelor's degree in Education or related field - Teaching certification/license in the relevant subject area -preferred - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Strong ability to integrate Catholic theology and philosophy with the arts. - Committed to the mission of HCJCA and the teachings of the Catholic Church - Knowledge of special education practices and principles Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume to: Patricia Winters Principal Holy Child Jesus Catholic Academy [email protected] Apply tot his job
