Gore Mutual is a modern mutual insurance company aiming to transform the industry for the better. They are seeking an Associate Claims Advisor for the Auto sector, responsible for investigating claims, educating customers, and providing exceptional service while ensuring accurate claims processing.
Responsibilities
- Investigate claims and determine coverage under a customer’s policy
- Inform and educate customers about the claims process
- Arrange and coordinate required vendor services (repairs, appraisals, rentals, towing)
- Process claims payments and ensure accurate information is captured within our claims system
- Deliver exceptional customer service to our customers and brokers
- Ensure claim reserves and payments are accurately entered and processed in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
- Review appraisal findings and guide customers through the valuation and settlement process, including documentation and payment issuance
- Assess loss details and damage areas to confirm coverage applicability, including ordering police reports and contacting witnesses when necessary
Skills
- 1-3 years of prior customer service experience required
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective Communication Skills: Ability to convey information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to ensure mutual understanding and collaboration among team members and stakeholders
- Sound Judgment & Decision-Making Skills: Capability to analyze situations, consider various perspectives, and make well-informed decisions
- Strong Empathy: Demonstrating a deep understanding of and sensitivity to the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of others, fostering a positive customer experience
- Resilience: Maintaining composure and a positive attitude in the face of challenges, setbacks, and stressful situations, while continuing to work towards achieving goals
- Undergraduate or post-secondary degree is preferred
- Insurance industry experience, call center experience, or experience within a brokerage setting is helpful
- Interested in pursuing a CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional Designation)
