Do you love comic books, graphic novels, and superheroes? Want to reach millions of readers every month? Have strong opinions and extensive knowledge on past comic events? We are looking for strong writers to join our comic book Lists team - covering all things comics, graphic novels, and superheroes. This is a fully remote freelance position that allows for flexible scheduling and opportunities in development and professional advancement. You Will: • Compose engaging List articles. • Be able to pitch your own engaging List ideas in the style of ComicBook's content, as well as taking on editorial commissions. • Work with editors to develop a unique angle or insight that will help our article stand out from the crowd. • Produce clean copy that is easy to edit, enjoyable to read, and free of typos. • Develop extensive knowledge of major comic book franchises, publishers, and other industry elements - and perform research as needed to ensure articles both reinforce our authority in the space and satisfy our readers. • Follow editorial guidelines and adapt writing style to site voice (with plenty of room for personal flourishes) as needed. • Maintain professional standards of communication within our organization. You MUST Have: • Prior publishing experience in journalism or other professional writing fields (technical and/or creative). • A portfolio of past work for us to review. • Degree and/or certification in English-related education is a benefit but not mandatory. • Ambition, a passion for publishing, and a desire to help us connect with readers and grow our brand. As a news publisher that operates 24/7, availability in evenings and on weekends is a bonus - as are candidates who will be excited to hop-on and help when big news drops.
