Job Summary
This role requires advanced knowledge of customs brokerage operations, including entry writing, classification, and regulatory compliance. As a Customs Brokerage Representative III, you'll be responsible for preparing customs entries, coordinating freight delivery, and communicating with clients and internal stakeholders. This position demands strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and compliant customs entries, including classification and tariff schedules (HTS)
- Interface with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers to facilitate freight delivery
- Coordinate clearance processes, including documentation and regulatory compliance
- Communicate documentation discrepancies to clients and internal stakeholders
- Resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues
- Scan entries into the imaging system, meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements
- Prepare reports, presentations, and analysis using various software packages and databases
- Establish and maintain client relationships, providing exceptional customer service
- Work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis, as required by the operation and account needs
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customs brokerage or a related field
- Basic knowledge of customs operations, laws, and regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including data entry and reporting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Accurate and rapid data entry skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Customs Broker License
- Advanced knowledge of customs regulations and compliance
- Experience with automated brokerage systems and software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
