We are a growing dental revenue cycle services startup helping dental clinics recover denied claims, reduce AR days, and increase monthly collections.
We are looking for an experienced Dental Insurance Billing Expert who can support both service delivery and sales calls by providing expert technical credibility and payer-specific billing insights.
This role is ideal for a senior dental biller who has deep experience handling denials, appeals, payer rules, and insurance claim workflows — and can speak confidently with dental office managers.
Key Responsibilities
A) Claim Denial & AR Recovery
Review denied and underpaid dental claims
Identify root cause and recommend fixes
Create and submit appeals and supporting documentation
Track payer responses and follow up until resolution
Recover revenue from outstanding A/R within the most recent 60 days (denied or unpaid claims)
B) Appeals & Documentation
Write strong appeal letters (payer-specific)
Identify missing documentation (x-rays, narratives, perio charts, etc.)
Suggest corrections to CDT codes, modifiers, and claim submission details
C) Sales Call Support (Very Important)
You will join some sales calls with potential clinics to answer:
Denial code reasons
How to fix recurring payer issues
Typical mistakes offices make with claims
Examples of how you’ve overturned denials in the past
(You will not need to “sell” — your role is to provide expert authority.)
Required Experience / Skills
We are ONLY looking for someone with strong dental billing & payer experience, not general medical billing.
Must Have:
8+ years dental billing / dental RCM experience
Strong background in denials & appeals (not only payment posting)
Familiar with major payers (Delta Dental, BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, Medicaid, etc.)
Knowledge of CDT codes, claim narratives, documentation standards
Experience working with EOBs, claim forms, insurance portals
Comfortable speaking on Zoom calls with clinics
Strong spoken and written English
Bonus Skills:
Experience with Dentrix / Eaglesoft / OpenDental
Knowledge of NC Medicaid dental rules
Experience with 835/837 claims workflows
Tools & Systems
Dental software: Dentrix, OpenDental, Eaglesoft (or similar)
Insurance portals: Availity, payer portals, Medicaid sites
Communication: Zoom + Slack + Google Drive
Tracking: spreadsheets or CRM
Working Hours / Commitment
Start part-time (10–15 hrs/week), potential to grow
Must be available for some US business hour calls (scheduled in advance)
Long-term opportunity available for the right person
