Development Associate, Office of Individual Giving (OIG) - Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Cambridge, MA - work from home job Company: Massachusetts Institute of Technology Job description: Job Description DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE, Resource Development-Office of Individual Giving (OIG), to actively coordinate engagement projects for the benefit of major gift prospects in consultation with staff across OLG and Resource Development. In addition to working with OIG colleagues, will interface with staff and faculty from across the Institute with the goal of developing, overseeing, and maintaining work consistent with engaging philanthropic support for development activities. With strong project management, data analysis, event management, and logistics support, will assist officers with developing relationships with prospects, building prospect lists, special event planning, ongoing cultivation/stewardship, and other project support. Job Requirements REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; two years of relevant work experience; wide-ranging knowledge of office procedures; excellent customer service, interpersonal, oral communication, problem-solving, analytical, time-management, and decision-making skills; meticulous attention to detail, flexible approach to the working environment; initiative; experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) in a professional setting and familiarity with CRM databases; excellent writing skills, including attention to grammar, spelling, accuracy, format, and tone; proficient editing and proofreading skills; and good judgment, tact, and discretion with confidential information. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team member; analyze, synthesize, and present information; solicit information across departments; effectively organize oneself and others; multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines without compromising quality in a demanding, high-volume, high-energy work environment; anticipate and act on the needs of supervisor(s) and those whom this position provides administrative and/or project support; and promote and foster a highly professional and welcoming office environment for MIT’s internal and external audiences.
