Electronic Trading SME

Job Title: Electronic Trading SME Location: Remote/some travel Duration: 3+ months Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Electronic Trading Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide deep technical and compliance expertise in support of our Specialized Electronic Trading Infrastructure (SETI). This role will focus on evaluating, monitoring, and ensuring the integrity of trading systems hosted in co-location data centers, including server placement, network configurations, and monitoring controls. The SME will play a key role in validating that trading environments meet both technical performance needs and strict compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the technical expert for SETI environments, advising on system setup, monitoring, and compliance. • Develop and execute test plans to assess the adequacy of monitoring controls across trading systems and infrastructure. • Review and evaluate evidence, logs, and configurations to validate hardware placement, network infrastructure, and system performance. • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards for co-location data centers and electronic trading environments. • Partner with technology, operations, and compliance teams to ensure that all systems are configured, monitored, and controlled effectively. Required Skills & Qualifications • Proven expertise in Specialized Electronic Trading Infrastructure (SETI) and electronic trading systems. • Strong background in network infrastructure and configuration (routers, firewalls, high-speed connectivity, low-latency networks). • Hands-on experience with co-location data center environments, including hardware placement, rack setup, and performance monitoring. • Experience drafting test plans and conducting evidence reviews to validate monitoring controls. • Solid knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance frameworks governing electronic trading environments. • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams. Preferred Skills • Familiarity with trading platforms, exchanges, and high-frequency trading environments. • Experience in audit or compliance review of financial systems. • Strong documentation and reporting abilities.
