Job Summary
The Data Analyst will be responsible for working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and analyze complex business problems, develop innovative solutions, and drive data-driven decision making. Key Responsibilities
- Aid in the development and implementation of creative data visualization techniques to ensure that data is communicated effectively to all audience levels.
- Collaborate with accounting groups and contracting teams to identify and isolate fluctuations resulting from over/under payment practices and incorporate these into actual-to-expected results.
- Develop and maintain automated processes to identify data and process integrity issues, providing detailed recommendations for issue resolution and communicating with affected parties.
- Aid in the development of convenient, creative, objective analysis that leads to fact-based solutions for key business issues, identifying and driving issue definition and speculation reporting as it relates to the specific business environment.
- Prepare standard and ad-hoc management reports and presentations for projects, utilizing inquiry-based tools to create and run queries used for data mining and analysis.
- Perform specific tasks identified in the compliance monitoring system, including assessment of definitions, cost increase maintenance, and organization ID.
- Provide customer support to internal and external clients, ensuring quality standards for services and assessing customer satisfaction.
- Work collaboratively with peers in Sales, Finance, Regulatory, Contract Development, and Contract Operations.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems).
- Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to aid in the development of processes and project designs that meet division objectives within budget and established timelines.
- Experience establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal (peers, colleagues, and leadership) and external (business community, clients, and vendors) stakeholders within a matrix organization to ensure quality standards for service.
- Experience creating approaches to achieve objectives with minimal supervision, relying on oneself to resolve issues and ensure completed goals, and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
- Experience utilizing time management skills, such as prioritizing/coordinating and following details, and meeting deadlines for multiple projects with varying completion dates.
- Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve issues.
- Experience with analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions for driving improvement of results and finding solutions.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., using PivotTable, consolidating and formatting cells, printing focused page, and creating a pivot table).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint (e.g., changing picture styles, editing animation, and setting automatic slide timings).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word (e.g., adding developer tab, creating a macro, formatting table style, inserting comments, and creating a mail merge).
- Able to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- Knowledge of advanced coding languages (e.g., SAS, SQL, C++, etc.).
- Experience with system administration (e.g., Masters, Vendavo, Vistaar, Salesforce.com, SharePoint, Wikis, etc.).
- Experience with business intelligence tools in support of data analysis (e.g., Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, Masters, etc.).
- Experience with learn training, coaching, and training staff.
- Knowledge of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Benefit Manager, Benefit Consultancy, or Managed Care organization.
- Experience working with pharmacy data at a retail pharmacy, Pharmacy Benefit Manager, benefit consultancy, or managed care organization.
- Knowledge of drug industry pricing.
- Experience with project management (e.g., planning, coordinating, and managing resources to achieve the successful completion of specific project objectives and goals).
- Knowledge of systems like Cure and GIS.
- Experience with data extraction, data mining, data acquisition, data profiling, and data warehouse management.
- Experience in a data warehouse/business intelligence/decision support systems environment or IT experience.
- Knowledge of statistical concepts and data mining techniques.
