Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our team at blithequark. As a Data Architect, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our enterprise data model, defining and maintaining our data technology architecture, and ensuring the effective integration of data across our organization. You will work closely with our data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to design and implement data-driven solutions that drive business growth and improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the enterprise data model, including data models, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and technical metadata
- Understand enterprise information needs and develop solutions to meet those needs
- Analyze and align data architecture with other business models and systems
- Define and maintain data technology architecture, data integration architecture, and data warehouse and BI architecture
- Define and maintain enterprise taxonomies and namespaces, as well as meta-data architecture
- Conceptualize and develop the overall data architectural framework for large, complex data evaluations
- Collaborate with data engineers on data model development, maintenance, and optimization, as well as end-to-end data-driven integration strategy
- Participate in developing the future state data architecture requirements, guidelines, and principles
- Optimize performance of queries and ELT/ETL processes, and enhance batch jobs for near real-time capabilities
- Build high-quality data pipelines driving analytic solutions and drive data platform architectural decisions and development requirements
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related field, and at least 4 years of experience in data/analytics architecture, engineering design, configuration experience, and/or a related discipline
- At least 1 year of experience in domain-specific architecture
- Experience developing cloud-based solutions and knowledge of DevOps
- At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace
- At least 2 years of direct management, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team management experience
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within and outside the state)
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Technology
- Advanced degree or certification in data architecture, engineering, or a related field
- Experience working with large, complex data sets and developing data-driven solutions
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
