Job Overview

As a Server Farm Professional (DCT) at blithequark, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of standard processes and procedures for planning, installing, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacing, or decommissioning equipment under the guidance of more experienced Server Farm partners. This opportunity will allow you to gain a deep understanding of our Data Center environment, learn about security and data management strategies, and accelerate your career growth simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tickets efficiently and in accordance with significant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) per task type with guidance from experienced specialists.
• Develop a comprehension of effective execution order strategy(ies) for assigned tasks with support from experienced specialists or direct-line management.
• Plan, stage, set up, and perform essential new starts and shutdowns for equipment (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) as per explicit written guidelines provided via checklists, guides, standard processes, emails, direction from other professionals, and/or guidance from management.
• Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting with guidance from experienced professionals and/or through standard procedures to identify the cause(s) of technical issues and replace faulty parts in organization, storage, or server equipment with zero-to-minimal customer or business disruption.
• Directly perform decommissions, basic upgrades (e.g., memory upgrades, operating system modifies) and refreshes of system cabling, network, storage, and server equipment, keeping guideline methods while seeking explanation and guidance from more experienced professionals as needed.

Essential Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including shift duties during non-standard business hours that may include night, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Capacity to meet blithequark, client, or government security screening requirements, which include, but are not limited to, the following specific security screenings:
  • blithequark Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the blithequark Cloud background check upon hire/move and at regular intervals thereafter.
  • Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions.
  • Law Enforcement Data Services: This position may require passing a background check conducted through the CJIS law enforcement data system by authorized local, state, or federal agencies and across different states.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components AND 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT hardware or related technology.
• Or equivalent experience.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

blithequark offers a competitive salary range for this position, with the ordinary base compensation range for this job across the U.S. being each hour. There is an alternate range applicable to specific work locations, inside the San Francisco Bay region and New York City metropolitan region, and the base compensation range for this job in those locations is USD each hour.
