Job Overview

In this critical role, you will be responsible for supporting the prior authorization request process, ensuring that all authorization requests are addressed properly and within the contractual timeline. As an integral part of our utilization management team, you will aid in documenting authorization requests, obtaining accurate and timely documentation for services related to member healthcare eligibility and access, and supporting authorization requests for services by the insurance prior authorization list. This is a remote, contract-to-hire position based in Texas, offering a competitive hourly rate of $16.00 and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and perform data entry to maintain and update authorization requests in the utilization management system, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Assist the utilization management team with ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on authorizations and referrals, adhering to policies and guidelines.
• Contribute to the authorization review process by documenting necessary medical information, such as history, diagnosis, and prognosis, based on the referral to the clinical reviewer for determination.
• Remain up-to-date on healthcare, authorization processes, policies, and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned, complying with all policies and standards.
• Receive faxes, triage them, and send them out to the appropriate teams within arenaflex's HealthPlan, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
• Support the intake department to streamline the intake process, entering pertinent claims information from source documents, correcting entries where indicated, and maintaining appropriate records, files, and documentation.

Performance Expectations and Metrics

In this fast-paced role, you will be expected to process a high volume of faxes, with the team handling between 3,500 to 4,000 faxes per day. You will need to ensure that faxes are sent out to other teams within 1-2 hours of receiving, depending on the form. Additionally, you will be required to maintain a typing speed of 50-60 words per minute, with a minimum of 10,000 keystrokes per hour.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required, due to the possibility of conversion later.
• Able to pass a typing test with a minimum score of 60 words per minute, which will be sent separately upon application.
• Open availability to work any assigned shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as the team operates 7 days a week.
• Ability to be punctual and reliable on the job, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Understanding of medical terminology and insurance is preferred, but not required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

While not required, the following skills and experience are preferred:

• 3 months to 1 year of data processing or clerical experience.
• Retail experience, which may transfer from a schedule expectation standpoint, due to the team being open 7 days a week.
