Workwarp, a pioneering company in the field of globalization and localization, is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join its Content & Studio team. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in removing language barriers and providing a stellar member experience to all users, regardless of their language preferences. Our team is responsible for the translation and cultural adaptation of all aspects of member interaction, including beautiful localized user interfaces, subtitles, and dubbing of award-winning content.
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Scientist - Content & Studio, you will be responsible for:
- Acting as a strategic partner for stakeholders and cross-functional collaborators to identify business opportunities and enhance business strategies with novel data science methods
- Defining and executing on roadmaps for measuring localization member impact and improving localization member experience with Experimentation, Causal Inference, and Machine Learning
- Partnering closely with other business leaders, product managers, and other data scientists to refine and scale Causal Inference model-based systems
- Presenting your research and insights to all levels of the company, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Becoming a regional expert on Globalization Data Science and Engineering, helping educate and connect with regional offices, and contributing to the development of best practices and standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A proven track record of researching and leading Experimentation and Causal Inference methods in ambiguous and complex business areas, with a focus on technical rigor and robustness
- High proficiency in standard tech stack (e.g., R, Python, SQL), Experimentation (HTEs, multiple hypotheses correction), and common Causal Inference frameworks (e.g., propensity score matching, double machine learning)
- 5+ years of relevant experience with Experimentation and Causal Inference applications, with a strong understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning techniques
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, coupled with strong business acumen and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Comfort with ambiguity, ability to take ownership, and thrive with minimal oversight and process, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- A strong alignment with Netflix's culture and values, and a passion for contributing to a unique and innovative company
Essential Qualifications
In addition to the above, you should also have:
- A Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics
- Experience working with large datasets, and a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable components
- A strong understanding of cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure, and experience working with distributed computing systems
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working in a globalization or localization context, with a strong understanding of cultural and linguistic nuances
- Knowledge of natural language processing techniques, such as text classification, sentiment analysis, or machine translation
- Experience working with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
- Certifications in data science or related fields, such as Certified Data Scientist (CDS) or Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
- Experience working with containerization technologies, such as Docker, and orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes
