Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present food as needed, following approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
- Perform prep work, such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, and weigh and measure designated ingredients.
- Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
- Store food in designated areas, following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
- Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils, and distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
- Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner, following outlined steps of service, and resolve customer concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory and cash control procedures, and all sanitation and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned, and participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Prior experience in food service, preferably in a similar role, with a strong understanding of food safety and handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact with clients and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner.
- Basic math skills, with the ability to accurately count and handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies, with the ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable:
- Prior experience as a barista or in a related role, with a strong understanding of coffee and beverage preparation.
- Food safety certification, such as ServSafe, with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
- Experience working in a similar food service environment, such as a café, restaurant, or catering company.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and presentation, with the ability to follow recipes and instructions.
