Job Overview
In this critical role, you will lead the full-stack design for a rapidly growing and vital business within arenaflex's smart home association, focusing on connecting the long-tail of devices to Alexa. As a Technical Leader, you will be responsible for fostering an ACK (Alexa Interface Pack) design team, encompassing hardware, firmware, APIs, SDKs, applications, and operations, to deliver each aspect of the product. Your expertise will be instrumental in collaborating with Product Managers, senior leaders, engineers, Business Development, and clients to develop the technical vision and execution tools for the team, while providing solutions to improve the manufacturing processes for IoT device creators.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop an ACK design team, including hardware, firmware, APIs, SDKs, applications, and operations, to deliver high-quality products and solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, senior leaders, engineers, Business Development, and clients, to develop the technical vision and execution tools for the team.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in gadget firmware, IoT device SDKs, or similar experience, to improve the manufacturing processes for IoT device creators.
- Manage and mentor a dynamic and full-stack team, including Quality Assurance Specialists and Support Engineers, to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and solutions.
- Develop and implement engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, validation, and livesite operations.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 3+ years of engineering experience, with a strong background in full-stack development, IoT, and smart home solutions.
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering complex projects.
- 3+ years of experience in driving the definition and development of multi-level web services, with a strong understanding of engineering practices and patterns.
- Experience working with item or program management teams, with a strong ability to communicate technical concepts and plans to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems, with a strong understanding of software development life cycles and methodologies.

- Experience in communicating with clients, other technical teams, and senior management to gather requirements, describe software product features, technical plans, and product strategy.
