Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced IC Packaging Design Lead to lead our packaging design and development efforts. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative packaging solutions that meet the needs of our cutting-edge products. You'll have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies, collaborate with talented engineers, and contribute to the growth and success of our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead packaging design and development efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other components and systems.
- Develop and implement packaging solutions that meet the needs of our high-performance products, including those with advanced thermal, mechanical, and electrical requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers and partners to bring packaging solutions from concept to high-volume manufacturing.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and designers, providing guidance and mentorship to help them grow and develop in their careers.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams, to ensure that packaging solutions meet business requirements and are aligned with company goals.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design files, specifications, and test reports.
- Participate in industry conferences and events to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and advancements in packaging technology.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with a focus on packaging design and development.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in packaging design tools such as Rhythm APD/Allegro.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- A strong understanding of packaging design principles, including signal integrity, power integrity, thermal design, and mechanical design.
- Experience with high-density interconnects, thermo-mechanical design, and reliability testing.
- Knowledge of cell packaging and systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
We'd love to see:
- A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) and HVM (High-Volume Manufacturing) environments.
- Familiarity with Apple's design and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and project management tools.
