About the Role

As a Live Online Pharmacy Technician Instructor with ProTrain, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of our students. You'll be responsible for teaching our comprehensive Pharmacy Technician courses to students on an as-needed basis, using our state-of-the-art online platform. This is a part-time, contracted teaching position that requires a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, as well as a passion for teaching and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Live Online Pharmacy Technician courses to students on an as-needed basis, covering a range of topics including:
  • History of Medicine and Pharmacy
  • Pharmacy Law, Ethics, and Regulatory Agencies
  • Competencies, Associations, and Settings for Technicians
  • Communication and Role of the Technician with the Customer/Patient
  • Dosage Forms, and Routes of Administration
  • Conversions and Calculations
  • Drug Information References
  • Pharmacy Practices
  • Bulk Repackaging and Non-Sterile Compounding
  • Aseptic Technique and Sterile Compounding
  • Pharmacy Billing and Inventory Management
  • Medications Safety and Error Prevention
  • Therapeutic Agents
  • Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medications
  • Complementary and Alternative Medicine
• Adhere to weekly class schedules and ensure timely delivery of course materials
• Provide engaging and interactive online instruction to students
• Assess student understanding and progress throughout the course
• Participate in faculty development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and best practices

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential qualifications:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably in a classroom or synchronous online environment
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Teaching certification preferred, but not required
• Strong knowledge of Pharmacy Technician practices, laws, and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, we prefer candidates with:

• Experience teaching online or in a distance learning environment
