Job Overview
The Manager, Data Analytics will play a critical role in leading the development of analytics and tools that enable a deep understanding of customer behaviors within music marketing, discovery, and utilization channels. As a member of the Data and Insights team, you will serve as the data analysis partner to cross-functional teams, providing insights to inform planning and decision-making across blithequark's business areas. Your expertise in data analysis, statistics, and machine learning will be essential in driving business outcomes and identifying opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive practical approaches to solving complex business problems across recorded music, publishing, and live shows. Lead the development of analytical frameworks, directing data, measurement, and analysis techniques. Build automated, flexible, repeatable, and integrated analysis using current big data models in data ecosystems, such as Databricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery.
- Support data-informed business strategies through in-depth quantitative analysis. Apply advanced analytics techniques (data mining, statistical analysis, machine learning) to identify patterns and uncover potential opportunities in behavior data. Create and deliver presentations to communicate results.
- Be the analysis partner to cross-functional stakeholders across blithequark. Dive into complex, large-scale, high-dimensional data from disparate sources using tools such as PySpark or advanced SQL to answer ad-hoc business questions. Support stakeholders with data insights throughout the business cycle stages, including pitching, negotiating, and execution.
- Lead the reporting for organizational needs. Develop, integrate, and standardize metrics that measure success. Direct campaign, product, content, and audience analysis.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to execute on data projects, contributing to solution discovery, design, build, and QA.
- Lead and mentor a team, establishing boundaries to maximize impact in the organization.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- 4+ years of data analysis experience.
- 4+ years of management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, including Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related quantitative field.
- Experience delivering end-to-end analytics projects.
- Experience in applying supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, or k-means clustering to derive, validate, and evaluate conclusions from data.
- Experience documenting data requirements, rules, and assumptions.
- Proficient in using SQL and scripting tools like PySpark/Python/R.
- Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools.
- Experience with data mining in distributed systems like Databricks/Google BigQuery/Snowflake.
- Experience manipulating large, transaction-level datasets and interpreting data trends from multiple different data sources.
- Experience creating scalable analytical programming.
- Experience communicating analytical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience influencing and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
