As a Project Associate, you'll be an integral part of our Revenue Recovery Department, supporting our team in achieving our mission.
**Key Responsibilities**
As a Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
* Retrieving patient medical records from various Hospital systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
* Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements
* Extracting and entering necessary information from/to Hospital patient accounting systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
* Making phone calls to Post-Acute Healthcare Facilities to obtain information needed on patients, building strong relationships with healthcare professionals
* Running and creating reports to support revenue recovery efforts, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement
* Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team, providing support to ensure seamless operations
* Scanning and indexing of documents, maintaining a secure and organized digital filing system
**Essential Qualifications**
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* 1-2 years of experience in a medical records/data entry or project support role, preferably in a healthcare setting
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with Hospital patient accounting systems
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
**Preferred Qualifications**
While not essential, the following qualifications would be beneficial:
* Experience working in a Revenue Recovery or Health Information Management department
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA and ICD-10
* Certification in medical records or data entry, such as RHIT or CMC
* Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems (PMS)
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems
