About the Role
The Project Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis will play a critical role in leading corporate financial analysis, plans, and initiatives. As part of our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, you will work closely with senior leadership, including the Board of Directors, CEO, Delta Leadership Committee, CFO, and Finance leaders, to define financial goals that are in balance with operational, employee, and customer objectives. Your expertise will be instrumental in bringing visibility to the achievement of these goals, driving action, and fostering a culture of continuous financial improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning initiatives, including our rolling outlook, annual plan, long-term plan, and associated goals, mobilizing across Division Finance and divisions as needed.
- Develop materials for the Board of Directors and Investors that outline Delta’s financial plans and outlook, ensuring clarity and precision in communication.
- Maintain and improve reports and dashboards that provide timely and relevant information, integrating financial data with broader business and operational data to drive informed decision-making.
- Conduct financial and operational trend analysis to identify opportunities and drive action to capture them, contributing to the strategic growth and profitability of the company.
- Provide regular updates to support visibility for the Delta Leadership Committee on Delta’s financial trajectory, ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed and aligned with the company’s financial objectives.
- Engage with senior Finance leaders, Division Finance, Investor Relations, Treasury, Fuel, Financial Reporting, Corporate Strategy, Commercial planning teams, Ops planning teams, and HR to integrate Delta’s financial outlook and strategic plans, fostering a collaborative and integrated approach to financial management.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 4 years of work experience, with a proven track record of success in financial planning, analysis, or a related field.
- Strong technical skills in data visualization and analytics, including proficiency in Tableau, Oracle Analytics Cloud, and/or other relevant tools.
- Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical tool skills, with the ability to execute quality analytics and models that drive actionable insights.
- A results-oriented mindset with strong business acumen, excellent time management skills, and the ability to manage priorities, sequence work, and navigate tradeoffs in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear, effective communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into simple messages and present data in a clear and compelling way.
- A high level of professionalism, with a strong quality control mindset, a desire to learn, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency, and authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline, such as finance, accounting, economics, or mathematics.
- Experience in FP&A, Division Finance, or other division business planning functions, with a deep understanding of financial analysis and accounting principles.
- Financial analysis and understanding of accounting and finance, with the ability to apply this knowledge to drive business outcomes.
