This is an exciting opportunity to work in our Acute Care Medical Unit, providing direct patient care and utilizing the nursing process to deliver high-quality services. Key Responsibilities:
- Provides top of scope practice in direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to deliver high-quality services
- Values a multidisciplinary team approach to achieve exceptional outcomes and prioritizes wellness, patient perspective, and evidence-based practice
- Models proficiency through precepting those new to healthcare and/or UCHealth, and welcomes new knowledge in a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment
- Contributes to secure safety and quality at the point of care, and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and services
- Direct care includes specialty Acute Care (Med-Surg) Units of moderate to high patient acuity, and AMSN's core curriculum and various specialty certification standards are included in evidence-based care models for each unit
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- 6 months of nursing (RN) experience
- BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
Preferred Qualifications:
While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be highly regarded:
- Previous experience working in an Acute Care Medical Unit or similar setting
- Specialty certification in Med-Surg or a related field
- Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
