Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Remote Customer Service Representative to handle incoming calls from new and existing business clients, addressing a variety of requests in an efficient and effective manner. As a key member of our customer service team, you will utilize your knowledge of our products and services, combined with excellent customer service skills, to resolve issues, provide support, offer information, and place orders, ensuring that our customers are satisfied and retained. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with a competitive pay rate of $17.50 for English-speaking representatives and $20.00 for bilingual French-speaking representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and process orders in a timely and efficient manner
- Correctly document customer interactions and track call types to ensure accurate records and data analysis
- Maintain high levels of customer service standards, ensuring that all customer inquiries and issues are resolved promptly and professionally
- Follow up with customers to resolve inquiries regarding order status, shipping status, and stock availability, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction and retention
- Takes inbound phone calls for up to 90% of assigned shift, handling high volumes of calls (up to 80 per day) with confidence and professionalism
- Perform all other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Must live within a 2-hour radius of Port Washington, NY, to ensure reliable and efficient communication with our team and customers
- High school diploma or GED, demonstrating a foundation in education and a commitment to learning and development
- Minimum 1 year of experience in high-volume call center or customer service environment, with a proven track record of handling complex customer inquiries and resolving issues efficiently
- Medical-related background (medical billing, claims experience, in-office experience in a medical setting) or insurance experience is highly desirable, although not essential
- Excellent telephone etiquette, including the ability to communicate with confidence and clarity in a professional speaking voice
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Demonstrated listening and comprehension skills, with the ability to understand and respond to customer needs and concerns
- A clear team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with colleagues and customers to achieve shared goals and objectives
- Ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult customer situations, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong PC skills, including MS Office (Word and Excel), with the ability to navigate information systems and internet applications with ease
- SAP experience is highly desirable, although not essential, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies
