Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Teach five lower division Russian language courses and two upper division heritage Russian language courses during the 2023-24 academic year

- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students achieve their language learning goals
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the Russian language program
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in foreign language pedagogy and apply this knowledge to improve teaching practices
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress, and submit reports as required
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following basic qualifications:
- Hold at minimum a M.A. (or M.A. equivalent) in Russian language and literature, and preferably a Ph.D.
- Be a native or near-native speaker of Russian, with excellent communication and teaching skills
- Have experience in teaching Russian language at the university level, preferably in the United States
- Be familiar with the textbooks and online coursework used as the foundation for the Elementary Russian sequence taught at UCLA
