Job Overview: Senior Responsible AI Research Manager
We are seeking an experienced Senior Responsible AI Research Manager to join our team as a technical leader with a strong record in Applied Research, passionate about Machine Learning (ML) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), particularly in the areas of responsibility, fairness, and safety of Generative AI. As a Senior Research Manager, you will lead and build an organization accountable for researching and developing ML technologies that enable breakthrough user experiences while upholding our company's values and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead teams of machine learning and research engineers to define and deliver responsible machine learning technologies that meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.
- Advocate for scientific and engineering excellence, contributing to the architecture and high-level structure of our AI-driven platform and features.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on a diverse set of challenging problems, working closely with extraordinary software and machine learning engineers and researchers to impact the future of our products.
- Work closely with product and partner teams to drive requirement definition, technical quality of deliverables, and execution, ensuring that our products meet the needs of our customers and exceed their expectations.
- Build and grow inclusive, high-functioning, diverse teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5+ years of experience leading teams that have delivered sophisticated machine-learning systems and human-centered AI products, with a strong research or product deployment record in areas related to responsible AI.
- Publications in top ML and HCI venues, such as ACL, CHI, CVPR, EMNLP, FAccT, ICML, Interspeech, NeurIPS, UIST, etc.
- Strong research fundamentals, machine learning principles, and development methodologies around Large Language Models (LLMs), foundation models, and diffusion models.
- A Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Machine Learning, and Human-Computer Interaction.
Preferred Qualifications

- Strong background in human-centered research and design fundamentals in Human-Centered AI, Responsible AI, Human-Computer Interaction, and related fields.
