About the Role
As an Associate Software Development Engineer at Delta Airlines, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing modernized technical business applications. You will work closely with technical teams, business teams, and product managers to ensure that the code developed meets their vision and requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, prototyping, and demonstrating new features and components of front-end and back-end to customers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business teams, and product managers to ensure that the code developed meets their vision and requirements.
- Work on a team that crafts solutions to satisfy functional and technical requirements.
- Align with Security/Compliance frameworks and controls requirements.
- Own first-class posture by writing automated tests, preferably before writing code.
- Write code and fix issues from the development phase through the production phase, requiring being on-call for production support.
- Assist with the design, implementation, and optimization of related processes, tools, and workflows.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 0-2 years of experience, education, or training in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems.
- Relevant technologies include Java/J2EE development, JavaScript, Angular 5, RESTful APIs, and microservices with Springboot.
- Highly motivated self-starter with top analytical skills and verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of various software development life cycles, including Agile.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a time-sensitive and team-friendly environment with minimal supervision.
- Results-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative setting.
- High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Experience working in an airline technology environment.
- Experience working with DevOps principles, practices, and tools in an enterprise technology environment.
- Knowledge of software programs within an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure or other cloud solutions.
