Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant/Paraprofessional to join our Special Education team. This role requires a strong support system for students with diverse needs, and we are looking for an individual who can provide exceptional assistance to our teachers and students. As a Teaching Assistant/Paraprofessional, you will work closely with our Special Education staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Special Education staff in meeting the instructional/functional needs of assigned students.
- Communicate regularly with teachers/case managers and related service providers to ensure seamless support.
- Participate in team meetings to share progress and problem-solve, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our students.
- Complete record keeping, collect data, and perform clerical functions to support the teacher and ensure up-to-date reference documents.
- Provide necessary records/materials to students, teachers, and related service providers as required.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Paraprofessional Certification or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with students with diverse needs, including those with special education requirements.
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Ability to work with technology, including educational software and digital tools.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
