About the Role and Team
We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Programmer to join our team at the Orlando Disney Central location. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for finding and solutioning custom applications that provide efficiencies in our contact centers. You will work closely with our Senior Manager-Telecommunications and other stakeholders to design, develop, and implement technology solutions that meet the needs of our guests and our business. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are dedicated to delivering exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Write simple and sophisticated SQL queries, using vendor ODBC connections to query data sources, to extract insights and inform business decisions
- Work with SSO solutions, such as Open ID Connect, to ensure seamless authentication and authorization for our applications
- Develop sophisticated skills in Excel, including pivot tables, XML imports, and formulas, to analyze and present data in a clear and concise manner
- Ensure all telephony products and solutions meet security and standard process guidelines, to protect our guests' data and maintain the integrity of our systems
- Build, update, and maintain databases, and write scheduled and event-driven workflows, using Jenkins for custom applications, to automate processes and improve efficiency
- Write Batch and Bash scripts, Microsoft Office Macros for Excel, Access, and Outlook, using programs such as Microsoft Visual Studio and C# programs, to automate tasks and integrate systems
- Use HTML, JavaScript with jQuery/AJAX/JSON/XML, C# frameworks to make web applications for clients to use, and provide enhanced interactions in existing SharePoint pages and other custom applications
- Use PuTTY and other terminal/remote software to connect to Solaris/RedHat Linux servers, and install and configure required server/network software, to maintain and support our infrastructure
- Run regular status reports to assess need for upgrade/maintenance, and use Eclipse IDE to write Java-based IVR solutions that are guest-facing, to ensure our systems are running smoothly and efficiently
- Work with numerous sources of record systems to provide a better guest experience, and collaborate with internal customers and external vendors to design and implement solutions that meet their needs
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Previous Call Center experience, with a deep understanding of the technology and systems that support these environments
- Ability to prioritize with a good attention to detail, and a strong focus on delivering high-quality results
- Computer proficiency within a Windows environment, with experience using a range of software applications and tools
- Demonstrable ability to partner with internal customers and external vendors, and to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
- Shown ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Problem-solving skills, with a creative and innovative approach to finding solutions to complex technical problems
- Creativity, innovation, and ability to think outside of established guidelines, with a willingness to take calculated risks and try new approaches
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not essential, the following qualifications and skills would be highly desirable:
- Experience with custom application development, and a strong understanding of the technologies and tools used to support this
- Knowledge of ITIL principles and practices, and experience working in an ITIL-compliant environment
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, and a strong understanding of the principles and practices that underpin these
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a ability to analyze complex data sets and identify insights and trends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
Education and Certifications
A Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent is required for this role, with a strong preference for degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications, such as ITIL or Agile, would also be highly desirable.
