Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Terminal Handler Engineer to provide expert technical guidance, develop and implement complex system projects, and ensure the highest level of client satisfaction. As a TH Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and supervising the implementation of large-scale system projects, reviewing and analyzing programming systems, and assisting in the supervision of project team members. Your expertise in Terminal Handler experience, ATM transaction experience, and knowledge of debit processing environments will be essential in driving the success of our payment processing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level consulting services to clients, including advising on complex technical issues, evaluating technical and business solutions, and making recommendations to clients.
- Maintain project estimates and project management timelines for multiple major projects, ensuring timely completion and delivery of high-quality results.
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of specifications for multiple major projects, including report changes, control file changes, and file fixes.
- Determine programming requirements for multiple major projects, including product updates and conversions.
- Research and design system modules, program enhancements, and modifications to existing programs or modules, utilizing your expertise in C++, Tal, and P-tal programming languages.
- Create documents to communicate complex technical information to audiences of all levels, both internally and externally.
- Conduct research and document findings and recommendations, utilizing analytical problem-solving skills to drive informed decision-making.
- Provide client support, training, testing, and vendor relations, ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction and building strong relationships with our clients.
- Develop technical designs that meet system objectives and minimize the impact on operations, ensuring the seamless operation of our payment processing systems.
- Maintain and develop online and batch application programs, coding programs that interface with multiple applications, and developing complex procedural language routines.
- Train new employees on all aspects of an application or system product, sharing your expertise and knowledge to ensure the continued success of our team.
- Develop and implement a disaster recovery plan, ensuring the continuity of our operations and the protection of our clients' data.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related area, such as computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in full life cycle development, with 6-8 years of experience in programming and system design, preferably in the financial services or a related industry.
- Senior-level experience with P-Tal, Tacl, or Tal, as well as experience with Tandem, Connex HP, or HP NonStop.
- Terminal Handler experience or ATM transaction experience, with a thorough understanding of debit processing environments and payment processing systems.
- Strong knowledge of structured programming technology, applications development methodologies, and operating systems, programming languages, and development tools.
- Considerable knowledge of performance tuning, with the ability to assess requirements, alternatives, and risks/benefits for low- to high-impact projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, exhibiting solid analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, vendors, and the public.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience with FIS, Fiserv, or Mastercard, with a strong understanding of the financial services industry and payment processing systems.
- Knowledge of additional programming languages, such as Java or Python, with experience in agile development methodologies and version control systems.
- Certifications in ITIL, Agile, or Scrum, with a strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Experience in project management, with the ability to develop and implement project plans, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
