About the Role
As an Upper Level Math Tutor at Sylvan Learning, you will have the opportunity to work with students of all levels, providing personalized instruction in math and SAT/ACT prep. You will be trained on our proprietary curriculum and will work in a small group setting, with a student-to-teacher ratio of 3:1. This is a part-time position, with evening and weekend hours available. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized instruction to students in upper-level math subjects, including calculus, algebra 1 & 2, geometry, and trigonometry

- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
- Stay up-to-date with our proprietary curriculum and instructional methods, and participate in ongoing training and professional development
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in upper-level math subjects, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The following qualifications are required:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g. mathematics, education, or a related field)
- Advanced knowledge and familiarity with teaching or tutoring in upper-level math subjects, including calculus, algebra 1 & 2, geometry, and trigonometry
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Teaching or tutoring experience, particularly in a supplemental education setting
- Familiarity with our proprietary curriculum and instructional methods
- Experience working with students of diverse ages, skill levels, and learning styles
