About the Role:
Under the guidance of a licensed teacher or administrator, the General Education Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in supporting students' academic and personal growth. Responsibilities include:
- Providing one-on-one and small group instruction, guidance, and reinforcement of skills and concepts
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress, attendance, and test scores
- Preparing instructional materials and assisting with lesson planning
- Monitoring students in various settings to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
- Participating in meetings and professional development activities
Requirements:
- Valid Illinois Educator License with Stipulations (Paraprofessional or Professional Educator License or Substitute Teacher License)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents
- Basic knowledge of job-related equipment and software
- Experience working with children (preferred)
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
