GIS COTS Specialist / Admin - Remote

Job Description: As a GIS COTS Specialist / Admin, you will provide direct support for enterprise GIS systems while guiding architectural decisions and administering commercial off the shelf GIS solutions. This role focuses on the configuration, deployment, maintenance, and administration of ESRI based GIS platforms, ensuring system stability, data integrity, and effective user support. You will also play a key role in documentation, training, troubleshooting, and operational oversight of GIS environments. Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct support for enterprise GIS systems and advise on GIS architecture solutions. • Configure, deploy, maintain, and administer GIS COTS solutions such as ESRI Field Maps, Survey123, Collector, and Operations Dashboard. • Perform hardware and software installations, relocations, testing, and routine maintenance. • Lead troubleshooting efforts for GIS system hardware and software issues. • Develop and deliver technical and functional training materials and documentation. • Troubleshoot complex GIS issues independently with minimal supervision. • Develop and maintain system documentation, standards, and operational procedures. • Coordinate with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues under service or warranty agreements. • Track GIS software versions and notify appropriate stakeholders of upgrades and updates. • Resolve IT helpdesk tickets, manage problem reports, and maintain issue tracking records. • Maintain accurate inventory of GIS hardware, software, upgrades, and fixes across sites. • Maintain configuration charts and system documentation reflecting current environments. • Manage data backups, archives, and data recovery activities. • Monitor system health, availability, and data integrity. • Communicate system status, issues, and progress to management and project stakeholders. Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies: • Minimum 2 years of experience designing, configuring, and administering ESRI COTS products including Survey123, Field Maps, and Operations Dashboard. • Minimum 2 years of experience administering an ESRI ArcGIS Online organization. • Strong experience with GIS system troubleshooting and operational support. • Experience managing GIS software upgrades, patches, and version tracking. • Ability to develop technical documentation, standards, and training materials. • Strong communication skills for reporting system status and coordinating with stakeholders. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision. • Strong organizational skills with attention to inventory management, configuration tracking, and documentation.
