Graphic Designer & Email Developer: Campaign concept development & functional Braze templates - Contract to Hire

We are launching a brand-new initiative, and are looking for a sharp, versatile Digital Graphic Designer & Email Developer to help bring it to life. This "builder" role is designed for someone who lives at the intersection of high-end aesthetic design and technical precision. You will be responsible for defining the visual language for our campaigns, while simultaneously establishing the production playbook for our email, social, and display channels—developing the reusable Figma components and functional Braze templates that will define our early success and help us scale. You will be the visual engine behind our primary growth channels. Your work will land in thousands of inboxes, scroll-stops, and top-tier websites daily, directly influencing our brand sentiment and conversion rates for a high-priority new initiative. If you can design a high-converting, mobile-first experience in Figma and then jump into the code to ensure it remains pixel-perfect in Braze, you’re exactly who we’re looking for. This position requires mastery across THREE CORE SKILL SETS: 1. Campaign Concept Development & Visual Direction •Creative Direction & Iteration: Establish the visual look and feel for the new program across all marketing channels (email, display, social, site), ensuring strict adherence to Legacy’s brand guidelines. • Editorial Partnership: Partner closely with the Editorial and Advertising team to craft a cohesive campaign voice and visual story. • System Building: Create and maintain reusable Figma components and templates to ensure future efficiency and scalability. 2. Monthly Campaign Creation • Partner Assets: Produce high-impact, brand-aligned graphics for new program sponsors on a monthly cadence. • Agile Execution: Focus on quick-turn promotional campaigns; you’ll need to remain flexible and roll with last-minute changes as we develop our best practices in real-time. 3. Email Development & Technical Implementation • Braze & Liquid Mastery: Move beyond the canvas to write HTML and Liquid code directly within Braze, powering complex personalization and dynamic content. • Email Rendering Precision: Ensure functional, pixel-perfect rendering across various mail clients, ISPs, and devices for both Light and Dark Modes. • Display Ad Production: Create high-impact visual assets for programmatic display ad campaigns that meet Ad Partners' technical specifications and drive clicks. • Social Ad Technicals: Develop assets for Meta (FB/IG) that account for Safe Zones, platform-specific ratios (9:16 Stories vs. 4:5 Feed), and "sound-off" engagement. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Figma Native: You are an expert at using components, auto-layout, and shared styles to keep work organized and scalable. • Email & Social Rendering Mastery: o Email: You design for Dark Mode and understand the rendering quirks of various mail clients (Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook). o Display: You are expert in creating compliant, high-click-through assets for various ad network sizes and environments. o Social: You are aware of modern Accessibility standards (contrast ratios and legibility) and platform UI overlays. • HTML/CSS Expertise: You possess strong foundational knowledge of HTML/CSS specifically for email, understanding how to avoid common rendering issues. • Braze & Liquid Mastery: Proven experience building within Braze, with the ability to write Liquid logic for dynamic personalization while maintaining mobile-first integrity. • Freelance Mindset: You operate like an owner. You are comfortable taking direction from a Lead Designer and Marketing stakeholders while bringing the proactive energy needed to launch a new program. (This is a part-time freelance role with a possibility of converting to a full-time role in the future.)
