The Clinical Pharmacist – Immunology and Biologics (Specialty Pharmacy) supports a specialized team focused on autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, collaborating within a group of approximately 20 caregivers to manage complex specialty medication therapies. This role provides clinical oversight of biologic and oral therapies, including:
• Reviewing medication orders
• Supporting prior authorization and documentation workflows
• Ensuring safe, effective treatment plans
Daily responsibilities include:
• Patient outreach
• Counseling
• Medication education
• Answering drug information questions
Following onboarding, this position offers a primarily remote work structure with minimal onsite requirements. With a strong emphasis on professional development and caregiver support, this role provides meaningful clinical engagement and the opportunity to build expertise in a growing specialty area.
This is a remote position after initial onboarding. A caregiver in this role will work rotating 8hr shifts between 7:00am and 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. No weekend requirements or major holidays. On-call expectations are expected 1-2 times per year.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
• Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services
• Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations
• Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner
• Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives
• Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards
• Direct staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care and maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers
• Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients
Qualifications
• PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
• Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire
• For individuals required to administer immunizations, Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire are required
Requirements
• Board Certification
• 1-2 years of immunology or biological pharmacy experience
• 3 or more years in community/outpatient pharmacy experience
• Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred
• Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area (i.e. Oncology)
