Company: Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc. Job Description: We are seeking an HR Coordinator to provide administrative and operational assistance across a variety of HR activities. This position supports core HR processes including recruitment coordination, onboarding, employee communications, and day-to-day assistance to the HR Generalist team. You will help ensure the smooth execution of HR programs and administrative processes by maintaining accurate records, coordinating HR-related activities, and supporting employee engagement initiatives. This position also assists with routine HR tasks and administrative responsibilities while gaining exposure to multiple areas of the HR department. You will play an important role in helping maintain consistency, organization, and compliance with company policies and procedures. Hours: 8am - 5pm Location: Fowlerville, MI Benefits Competitive compensation with bonuses Great health benefits Paid time off Paid company holidays Strong company match to 401(k) contributions Tuition reimbursement program Paid parental leave Administrative Tasks Performs general administrative duties, including ordering and maintaining office, breakroom, and site supplies; administering employee and vendor badges; and supporting site visitor processes. Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail in a timely and accurate manner. Maintains and updates electronic site communication systems to support timely and effective information sharing. Maintains accurate electronic and paper filing systems to support administrative and business operations. Maintains organization and inventory of company storage areas, including office and breakroom supplies, and replenishes items as needed. Assists with annual driver’s license verification and documentation tracking in accordance with company requirements. Other duties as assigned. Human Resources Tasks Provides administrative support to the recruitment process such as coordinating phone screens, scheduling interviews and supporting interview logistics as needed. Assist with coordinating pre-employment screening activities, such as scheduling physicals, drug screens, and background checks, and tracking completion status as needed. Supports new hire onboarding by preparing and maintaining employee files for new hires, assisting with new hire paperwork, coordinating onboarding activities, and assigning Workday HRIS and e-learning tasks as directed. Provides administrative support for employee separations, including preparation of required documentation, HRIS updates, coordination of mailings, and scheduling exit interviews. Assists with the coordination and administration of employee programs, including the scholarship program, wellness initiatives, and employee service awards. Maintains and supports HR audit tracking systems, including scheduling and monitoring required HR processes and documentation. Supports HR representation at recruitment fairs, high school informational sessions, and community events by assisting with event preparation, materials, and logistics. Assists with the preparation and distribution of HR-related site communications, such as organizational announcements, internal notices, and employee recognition communications. Provides administrative support for site employee activities and engagement initiatives. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum: 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources, Administrative, or similar Preferred: Formal education and associate degree in HR or Business related field Required: High School Diploma Required Skills Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Microsoft Outlook/ Microsoft Teams Effective Verbal and Written Communication Relationship Building Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail Experience with Workday HRIS is suggested, but not required Working Environment / Physical Demands / Travel Must be able to work in the office for majority of schedule, but flexibility is provided as well as potential to work occasionally at home Sits, walks, and stands sometimes. Lift occasionally.
