As a Tutor Advisor, you will play a vital role in providing instructional support services to students, working closely with certified teachers to ensure that students receive the best possible education. As a 625 FTE Tutor Advisor, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one tutoring, assisting with classroom management, and compiling and maintaining accurate student records. You will also be required to provide information, materials, and instructional support to classroom instructors, conduct parent involvement activities, and coordinate parent/family school functions. Additionally, you will be expected to attend meetings and parent conferences, provide support in a library or media center, and conduct progress monitoring assessments.
To be considered for this role, you must have completed two years (48 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education, or obtained an associate's degree, or met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics. You must also have the ability to maintain effective communication with students and staff, carry out and evaluate the achievement of students, and demonstrate adequate level of instructional technology skills.
To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively as a team member, and have the ability to test and identify and keep accurate records on new and existing students. You must also be able to demonstrate a high level of instructional technology skills and have experience and training working with children with diverse backgrounds in an instructional setting.
