We're looking for a highly skilled Japanese-English live interpreter to support an upcoming business meeting with partners in Japan.
What you'll do:
• Provide real-time consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation between Japanese and English during a live meeting
• Ensure nuanced, accurate translation of business and technical terminology
• Help bridge cultural context where needed to keep the conversation flowing naturally
What we're looking for:
• Native or near-native fluency in both Japanese and English
• Proven experience as a professional interpreter or translator for top-tier Japanese companies (e.g., enterprise tech, finance, consulting, or similar industries)
• Strong familiarity with Japanese business culture, keigo (honorific language), and meeting etiquette
• Comfortable interpreting in a live, fast-paced setting (video call)
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional environment
Bonus:
• Experience interpreting in the tech or SaaS industry
• JLPT N1 certification or equivalent credential
• Prior experience with cross-border partnership or sales discussions
