<p>The Mechanical Discipline Leader is a technical expert capable of providing technical leadership for the team in the following areas:</p><ul><li>HVAC</li><li>Plumbing and Drainage</li><li>Hot Water Systems</li><li>Chilled Water Systems</li><li>Chilled Glycol Systems</li><li>Hot Oil Systems</li><li>Tempered Oil Systems</li><li>Jacketed Piping</li><li>Heat Traced Piping (Electrical, Hot Water, Hot Oil)</li></ul><p><br></p><p>The duties of the successful candidate will consist of a combination of the following tasks:</p><ul><li>Strategic development of the mechanical discipline </li><li>Management of assigned team members as the team grows</li><li>Coordination with international design offices on project work</li><li>Technical leadership on assigned projects</li><li>Peer review of engineering work </li><li>Preparation of engineering calculations</li><li>Development of engineering drawings (P&ID, layouts, 3D modeling)</li><li>Preparation of construction specifications, user requirements, functional specifications, and scope documentation</li><li>Cost estimating</li><li>Development of templates and tools for discipline area</li><li>Development of training materials</li><li>Maintenance of industry knowledge for discipline area</li><li>Delivery of training in technical lectures to junior staff</li><li>Training and mentorship of junior staff</li><li>Attendance of factory acceptance testing and on-site coordination and execution of commissioning and validation activities</li><li>Travel to client sites for site review and troubleshooting</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Minimum Required Education:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor of Applied Science degree in engineering from a recognized Canadian university</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Professional Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Current registration with the Professional Engineer’s of Ontario as a licensed Professional Engineer. </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Core Competencies:</strong></p><ul><li>Mechanical engineering skills with at least 7-10 years of current work experience, AND</li><li>Management of projects, systems, staff, clients, budgets, schedules, and business relationships.</li><li>Supervision of team members</li><li>Training and development of junior staff</li><li>Proficiency in written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly with clients.</li><li>Adept at dealing with client’s and other people professionally and courteously.</li><li>Knowledge of common business practices and techniques such as quoting, preparation of requirements, marketing and sales.</li><li>Valid driver’s license, and owner of a car.</li></ul><p></p>
