About the Actuarial Improvement Program
The Actuarial Improvement Program is a dynamic, long-term initiative that offers a comprehensive development program for individuals entering the actuarial field. As a participant in this program, you will be immersed in a stimulating environment that combines technical expertise with business acumen. Key Responsibilities
- Risk Evaluation: Understand and analyze specific risks, presenting findings to management and stakeholders.
- Rate Filing: Organize and analyze filing data, preparing and submitting essential presentations for regulatory filings.
- Reserve Analysis: Examine claim data, monitoring reserve levels for appropriateness and demonstrating an understanding of actuarial reserving methodologies and issues.
- Planning and Forecasting: Provide technical support and analysis for planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.
- Pricing, Trend, and Benefit Design: Develop and recommend pricing and trend for products and/or benefits.
- Technical Expertise: Develop innovative technical solutions to complex problems, demonstrating proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and online applications.
- Relocation and Work Arrangements: CVS Health follows a hybrid work model, offering flexibility to work from home or in the office. Relocation assistance is available for candidates who need to move more than 50 miles.
- Work Visa Sponsorship: Work visa sponsorship is available for this role, including participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Meet educational requirements (see education section)
- Willingness to relocate to a designated Actuarial hub
Preferred qualifications include:
- Entry-level or work experience supporting Actuarial functions within an organization or department.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, such as holding executive roles in student or social organization activities, or sports.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with analytical or coding software, such as SAS, Python, Excel, VBA, SQL, or R.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Supportive and positive attitude, promoting a collaborative work environment.
- Adaptable and able to adjust to change quickly and efficiently.
