Job Title: Project Staff Engineer
Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Duration: Through 06/30/2027 (Possible Extension)
Job Summary:
Seeking a Project Staff Engineer to support energy efficiency programs by evaluating engineering designs, energy models, and savings calculations for commercial, industrial, and multifamily projects. The role involves technical reviews, QA/QC, and ensuring projects meet cost-effectiveness and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review energy audits, engineering designs, and energy models
Validate energy savings estimates using TRMs and engineering principles
Perform QA/QC on project execution and post-construction performance
Collaborate with clients, vendors, and stakeholders
Develop technical documentation and analysis tools
Required Qualifications
B.S. in Engineering
2+ years experience in: Energy efficiency projects OR HVAC / Mechanical / Construction project engineering
Knowledge of: Energy savings calculations; ASHRAE standards & building codes; Strong analytical and Excel skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work hybrid in Newark, NJ
Preferred Qualifications
CEM, LEED, or PE certification
Experience with energy modeling tools (eQUEST, EnergyPlus, TRACE 3D)
Advanced Excel (formulas, VBA)
Knowledge of building controls and automation systems
