[Remote] Cost Accounting Manager

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Synergy Search is partnering with a PE-backed organization seeking to hire a strong Cost Accounting Manager. This role will be instrumental in strengthening cost controls, supporting scalable financial operations, and partnering closely with leadership as the business continues to grow. Responsibilities • Own and manage cost accounting processes, including job costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting • Oversee and apply Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting for long-term projects • Ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost allocation in accordance with GAAP • Maintain and enhance cost structures, standard costing, and inventory valuation • Partner with operations and project teams to improve forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis • Prepare and review monthly close entries related to costs, WIP, and revenue recognition • Support audits, PE reporting requirements, and internal controls • Leverage NetSuite to optimize cost accounting workflows, reporting, and system integrity Skills • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on cost accounting • Hands-on experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting • Strong working knowledge of NetSuite • Strong communicator who can work cross-functionally with finance and operations • CPA or CMA strongly preferred • Experience in a PE-backed or high-growth environment preferred • Implementation or optimization experience with NetSuite is a plus Company Overview • We are led entirely by CPAs, former public accountants, and finance professionals.
