Barrington James is currently supporting a confidential life sciences organization in their search for a Senior Vice President of Business Development. This key commercial leadership role involves shaping the regional commercial strategy, leading a team, and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders in biotech and pharma.
Responsibilities
• Setting the commercial direction for the region and aligning it with global goals
• Leading and developing a team of sales leaders, BD directors, and managers
• Owning regional revenue targets, forecasting, and overall sales performance
• Working directly with senior-level clients and serving as an executive sponsor for key accounts
• Driving pipeline quality, pricing strategy, and complex contract negotiations
• Collaborating closely with Operations, Project Management, Finance, Legal, and other commercial leaders
• Representing the company at conferences, industry events, and client meetings
• Continuing to build a strong commercial talent pipeline within the region
Skills
• 15+ years in the life sciences services space, ideally within CRO/CDMO/CRDMO
• Experience managing large sales or BD organizations
• Ability to guide long-term commercial strategy and hands-on deal leadership
• Strong communication skills with solid financial and analytical acumen
• Experience at the C-suite level and in complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
• Experience in developing teams and strengthening commercial discipline
