Schneider Electric is a global leader in energy management and automation, and they are seeking an early-career SAP ABAP Developer to join their Nashville Hub. This role involves assisting in the development and support of ABAP programs while collaborating with senior developers and functional partners to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in building, enhancing, and maintaining ABAP programs including reports, forms, data dictionary objects, and enhancements
- Work with user exits, BADIs, BAPIs, RFCs, and IDocs to support customizations and integrations
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in ECC (“Bridge”) and support S/4HANA (“Titan”) enhancements
- Support change requests, fixes, and project development tasks under senior guidance
- Work on-site in Nashville alongside senior ABAP developers for mentorship and shadowing
- Collaborate with functional partners to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Participate in documentation, testing, and defect resolution
- Build real-world experience with ECC and S/4HANA environments
- Gain exposure to SAP BTP and modern SAP development methods
- Participate in code reviews, team knowledge-sharing, and continuous upskilling opportunities
Skills
- Foundational programming experience; ABAP or Java preferred, with Python or SQL beneficial when paired with object-oriented programming knowledge
- Any exposure (academic or project-based) to ABAP or SAP development is a plus
- Familiarity with concepts such as: Reports (Classical/ALV), Data Dictionary, User Exits, BADIs, IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs
- Interest in learning S/4HANA technologies such as CDS Views
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Coachable, curious, and eager to develop long-term SAP skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Comfortable in a hybrid environment with in-person learning and collaboration
- Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
- Optional: exposure to SAP UI5, OData services, or BTP
