Senior Business Analyst
A Senior Business Analyst is required to support a complex portfolio of interdependent modernization initiatives in a large public sector environment. The role provides senior level coordination, integration, and oversight across multiple concurrent initiatives involving shared services, identity management, infrastructure, applications, repositories, data integration, and messaging. The position supports governance processes, maintains portfolio level visibility, and ensures consistent planning, tracking, and reporting across projects to enable informed decision making and sustained progress across connected work streams.
Responsibilities include coordinating activities across multiple initiatives to maintain alignment with organizational priorities and governance expectations. The role leads and documents strategic planning and priorities, identifies projects that support organizational objectives, facilitates stakeholder workshops and focus groups, and prepares presentations and strategy materials for executives, steering committees, project groups, and other stakeholders. The position also supports risk and issue management, develops change management and communication plans, develops business cases in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders, documents analyses and recommendations, performs quality assurance on business case documentation, identifies implementation risks, and aligns multiple business cases while documenting dependencies.
Qualifications
- University degree in business, management, or a related discipline with 4 years of related experience
- 5 years - Experience conducting, facilitating, and interpreting impact and risk assessments across multiple scenarios.
- 5 years - Experience in a leadership or facilitation role.
- 5 years - Experience managing projects in an organization of comparable size and complexity.
- 5 years - Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis of costs and benefits.
- 5 years - Experience using analytical and problem solving skills to plan and design creative solutions.
- 5 years - Experience with business writing, communication, and documentation.
- 5 years - Experience with change management.
- 5 years - Experience with financial reporting and modeling.
- 5 years - Experience with government planning and budgeting processes and procedures.
- 5 years - Experience with information management concepts, privacy, and security requirements related to access to information and protection of privacy legislation.
- 5 years - Experience developing business cases for a wide variety of initiatives and projects, including strategic, business improvement, and information technology initiatives.
- 5 years - Experience working with system stakeholders in the development and maintenance of information technology applications.
Nice to Have
- Active certification in CAPM, PMP, or PgMP, or an active CMC designation, or equivalent.
- Active professional certification or accreditation in a related discipline from a recognized issuing body.
- 2 years - Experience evaluating policies, programs, and initiatives using program development principles.
- 5 years - Experience leading an organization through a large scale technology change affecting all levels of the organization.
- 5 years - Experience developing information management or related policies, standards, and practices.
