Job Description:
• Engages with local team for design of interchanges, highways, and urban corridors.
• Responsible for 3D Modeling.
• Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader project assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple designs and tests.
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
• Follows and directs internal quality process and identifies discrepancies in results.
• Provides guidance and mentorship for entry level engineers.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Independently performs the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering design projects.
• Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
• 10+ years of related experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Kentucky or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire if current PE is out of state
• Computer skills using Microsoft office, AutoCAD Civil3D and MicroStation preferred
• Strong familiarity with InRoads / Open Roads a plus
• Prior experience working with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is a plus
