About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining a production data pipeline that supports the training and production of machine learning models. This role is focused on the US Federal Sales Division and will play a critical part in the growth and development of our machine-enhancing sales force. You will leverage your industry experience to drive innovation and excellence in data engineering, working closely with our core IT team and academic leaders, industry experts, and highly skilled engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of recent technology packages that support US Federal Market Data Science, including requirements gathering and solution analysis.
- Work closely with our Core IT Team to support the development and production data pipeline.
- Review and implement data engineering best practices consistent with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and innovation.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering, applying this knowledge to improve our data pipeline and processes.
Essential Qualifications
- US Citizenship is required.
- Must live in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least five years of professional experience related to data engineering in an enterprise environment.
- At least three years of experience supporting end-to-end development of scalable data pipelines, including monitoring and support for production.
- Strong skills in Python and SQL, with experience in data warehousing, relational databases, JSON, Apache Hive, Spark, or Hadoop, or related technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a US Federal Agency.
- Experience with the Cloudera Platform and Docker Containers.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and migration strategies.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
