So, with that in mind, we are looking for a new Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team of go-getters and realise the full value of their skills!
What you'll do:Own the core infrastructure and platform that Airtasker runs on.
Provide product teams with observability, deployment and infrastructure tooling to own and operate their services in production.
Evangelise and support best practice for highly available and robust services and systems (this includes all phases of the SDLC from design to maintenance).
Set and manage SLOs in collaboration with feature teams for the services they own.
Consult on observability and monitor production systems including management of overall platform availability.
Ensure our software deployment and provision of infrastructural resources (databases, compute units, routes) are defined and executed in a consistent way.
Provide the appropriate governance around resources and environment access to allow engineers to own their own pipelines and software systems.
Work closely with the Platform Excellence team to build out the appropriate tooling and automation to deliver on the above.
Build out robust processes for emergency response and incident management.
Work with system architects to improve performance, scaling and system security.
Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud infrastructure, networking and security.
Experience managing, administering and maintaining multiple Kubernetes Clusters.
Industry experience using Terraform to manage Infrastructure as Code.
Experience in one or more of the following: Kotlin, C, C++, Java, Python, NodeJS, Go, or Ruby.
A first principles approach applying engineering fundamentals to real world problems
Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
Ability to debug and optimise code, and automate routine tasks.
Good working knowledge around system security issues and incident management.
