Shopify Developer Needed: Multi-Brand Ecommerce Build (4 Stores or Hybrid Architecture)

Apply Now
Project Overview We are planning the build of an ecommerce platform consisting of four sub-brands that sell physical products to completely different audiences. Each brand will have its own domain and its own product catalog. We are exploring two possible architectures and would like proposals for both approaches. Option A: Four separate Shopify stores Option B: One Shopify store serving four branded storefronts (hybrid model) We are looking for a Shopify developer or small team that can help design the architecture and build the storefront(s). --- Project Scope There are four brands total. Each brand will include: - 2–3 products - Product variants (size, quantity, etc.) - Standard ecommerce functionality - 5–10 marketing pages Examples of marketing pages include: - About - Product overview - FAQ - Contact - Brand story - Other informational pages Products do not overlap between brands. --- Design Approach The storefront design will be templated. We plan to design one base storefront template and reuse it across all four brands with: - different branding - different product data - different content The goal is to build the template once and deploy it four times. --- Platform The ecommerce stores will be built on Shopify. The client would like to use Shopify’s built-in CMS features to manage marketing pages and product content. No subscriptions or recurring billing are required. --- Business Context Each brand targets a completely different audience and customer base. Products do not overlap. Customer data does not need to be shared across brands. The brands may be sold independently in the future, but this is not expected to happen for at least 18 months. Because of that, we are evaluating two architectural approaches. --- Architecture Option A — Separate Stores Four independent Shopify stores. Each would have: - its own Shopify account - separate analytics - separate app licenses - separate customer and order data Domains would be independent for each brand. --- Architecture Option B — Hybrid One Shopify store serving four brand websites. Each brand would have: - its own domain - separate product groupings - separate brand presentation The backend would be shared. --- Additional Notes Shipping will likely originate from the same warehouse initially, though this could change later. These are wholesale products, but the store does not need complex B2B functionality initially. No subscriptions. No product crossover between brands. --- What We Need From You Please provide: 1. Estimated cost for Option A (four separate Shopify stores using a shared template) 2. Estimated cost for Option B (single Shopify store serving four branded sites) 3. Estimated timeline 4. Recommended Shopify theme strategy (custom vs modified theme) 5. Suggested app stack if relevant 6. Any architectural recommendations based on your experience If possible, please also include examples of multi-brand Shopify projects you have built. --- Technical Collaboration I am leading the design portion of this project. The design system and UI will be provided in Figma. We are looking for a development partner to handle Shopify implementation and deployment. --- Future Work This project may lead to ongoing development and optimization work as the brands grow. --- Thank you. We look forward to hearing about your experience and recommendations. Apply Now Apply Now
